Upper Critical Field, Hall Effect and Magnetoresistance in the Iron-based Layered Superconductor Lafeaso 0.9 F 0.1−δ

چکیده
By using a two-step method, we successfully synthesized the iron based new superconductor LaFeAsO0.9F0.1−δ. The resistive transition curves under different magnetic fields were measured, leading to the determination of the upper critical field Hc2(T ) of this new superconductor. The value of Hc2 at zero temperature is estimated to be about 50 Tesla roughly. In addition, the Hall effect and magnetoresistance were measured in wide temperature region. A negative Hall coefficient RH has been found, implying a dominant conduction mainly by electron-like charge carriers in this material. The charge carrier density determined at 100 K is about 9.8×10 cm, which is close to the cuprate superconductors. It is further found that the magnetoresistance does not follow Kohler’s law. Meanwhile, the different temperature dependence behaviors of resistivity, Hall coefficient, and magnetoresistance have anomalous properties at about 230 K, which may be induced by some exotic scattering mechanism.

Single phase polycrystalline Gd1-xPrxBa2Cu3O7-δ samples with x=0.05 , 0.10, and 0.15 have been prepared by standard solid state reaction technique and characterized by XRD and SEM analysis. The electrical resistivity, Hall effect and magnetoresistance measurements have been on the samples. The electrical resistivity measurements indicate a reduction of transition temperature (Tc) and an incre...

We report detailed measurements of the interlayer magnetoresistance of the layered organic superconductor k –(BEDT-TTF)2Cu(SCN)2 for temperatures down to 0.5 K and fields up to 30 T. The upper critical field is determined from the resistive transition for a wide range of temperatures and field directions. For magnetic fields parallel to the layers, the upper critical field increases approximate...

The conducting properties of the pressure-induced, layered organic superconductor (BEDT-TTF)3Cl2·2H2O have been studied at 13.5 and 14.0 kbar using low temperatures, high magnetic fields and two-axis rotation. An upper critical field that is significantly larger than that expected from the Pauli paramagnetic limit is observed when the field is applied parallel to the conducting layers. The angl...

In this paper, we report transport measurements of interlayer magnetoresistance with field parallel and perpendicular to the current direction in the organic superconductor k-(BEDT-TTF)2Cu@N(CN)2#Br. For HiJ , the isothermal magnetoresistance R(H) displays a peak effect as a function of field. While the magnetoresistance at small field can be fitted to stacked Josephson junction model, the nega...
